Okay so you probably want to know why you should choose this Healing house? There are tons of great sober living houses in the city of Edmonton, however; I had a different vision for this. I'll tell you why it's different and what I think is so special about it.
Where do I start? Let's start with the clients. We are not your typical sober living house that only takes in people who struggle with addictions. "...all addictions come from emotional loss, and exist to soothe the pain resulting from that loss. Trauma and abuse, as we define them, are certainly surefire sources of loss but they’re far from the only ones." - Dr. Gabor Mate an addictions specialist speaks on the root of addictions. This here is one of the reasons we will be inclusive to people who are also dealing with emotional issues and hardships in life including trauma but may not have developed an addiction yet. We want to help a broad spectrum of people and we also don't want it to result in addiction, so why not help them early on?
Now let me tell you about some of the things we are going to be offering at Evolution House!
This is very exciting to me. I have specifically chosen the people that work with Evolution House that are involved in spiritual practices (AKA meditation, yoga, etc.). We are not going to stick you in a house and make you go to 5 meetings a week and do step work. I believe there is much more to healing and growth than your basic 12 step groups. We want to give you a little of everything. 12 Steps are a part of it (depending on each clients customized plan) but we will also be involved in physical fitness (fitness and nutrition coaching), self-growth book and podcast club, meditation ceremonies, yoga, conscious dance ceremonies, sound bath ceremonies, grounding work with gardening and nature, reiki energy healing, life coaching, group coaching, etc. If this is not enough for you, we will eventually be looking at doing work with hypnotherapists, and fundraising for ceremonial retreats in other parts of the world!
